Amazon.com

Over the years, a fair amount has been spent at Amazon.com for books relating to themes at this site. I've added links in the site to the company's website, here in the U.S., which are coded so that if you take the link and it results in a sale there, I get a small fraction of the proceeds as credit for future purchases there.

I will also post links for specific books at their site, which will also give me some credit.

From time to time, I've posted reviews, booklists, and "How to" guides in that site, seeing it as an opportunity to share my knowledge and views about Quakerism and other book-related topics. My nom de plume there is "kofu." More recently, Amazon.com has introduced posting under one's own name, and I may switch over to that if I can figure out how. Purchases deriving from these reviews, etc. actually do not benefit me.

Martin Kelly, who works at the bookstore for Friends General Conference, has commented on Quaker books and self-defeating bargain hunting in his blog about the impact Amazon.com and other online sources may have on Quaker-affiliated and other non-corporate bookstores. For those who choose to support these bookstores, please go to their websites to arrange your purchases. (You may, of course, use the Amazon.com and other sites to find more information about specific books, and then go to the Quaker bookstores to buy your books).

More bookstores are listed at Quaker.org.
