If George Fox had walked over the hill path from Dent Dale to Sedburgh he could have seen Brigflatts to the west. Brigflatts and Borrett farm are among the groups of houses in the middle of the valley seen below.

When he first came to Sedburgh Fox was not to know that a rock near the top of the highest hill in this picture, Firbank Fell, was to become known as Fox's Pulpit. Two weeks later he spoke to over 1,000 people there.
