Why can’t we be Friends?
A hilarious video explaining why (historically speaking) “Quakers Rock!”
It’s a good mix of earnest effort and teenage humor. They’ve got the Quaker Oats gag in there (several times) but they manage to get past that. They even have some of our Friends in it.
And if you like that one, you might like the one about about the Grimke sisters.

This is about one of the weirdest things I’ve ever seen, though oddly compelling (perhaps because of the Lynyrd Skynyrd/Doobie Bros soundtrack). Fun to see they grabbed a few pictures of actual Friends in there via Flickr or some website. It’s always fascinating to see how we’re viewed by outsiders–I have to put this up on QuakerQuaker.

Anyone who’s done a project with a bunch of other high school kids knows it can go great, with good creative synergy, or it can bomb. This one flies! I think it’s fantastic.
I especially like the scene depicting farming in cold, rocky New England. Just the fact that they worked in as much about farming as they did shows they understood what it meant to try and make a living in one part or another of the American colonies, religion aside.
